Where Do The Years Go

It has been almost 12 years now.  Eddie has been gone longer than I even got to know him.  And yet, I never forget him, rarely a day goes by that I don't think of him - his smile, his love of life, his love of me and the kids.  He would have LOVED seeing all they are doing, accomplishing, the humans that they have become.  He would be proud of them!  He missed so much and he wanted all of it so much.  We honor him and remember him as best we can.  On his birthday, we eat coconut cake, his favorite.  To honor his yartzeit, we have always gone to temple.  This year we won't all be together so Matthew and I will do what Eddie really loved to do - go to the Dodger's game!

I still often get signs from him-

On the day before his birthday two years ago, Dylan was doing a word game late in the evening.  So technically, it was July 27th already.  The word was butterfly.....we have always recognized Eddie as a butterfly amongst us.

During a tough time with a mutual friend this year, I asked Eddie to show up, show me he is with me supporting our friend.  Soon thereafter, I got an alert that my gmail account was going to be deleted.  How? why?  Well, it was not my primary gmail.  It was a gmail I used over 15 years ago to do Eddie's billing.  How did that happen, why after all this time and after I asked for a sign.

He is with us, I know.  Always.  And we will remember him, always.
